Despite the lateness and realtive dryness of the season, the end of February put on amazing weather and gave us the chance to get out amongst the peaks at the head of the Tasman Glacier. Access onto most of the peaks was actually reasonably good with excellent bridging across the bergshrunds.
With basically 10 days straight of clear, calm weather we were spoilt for options. We finished our time in the hills with a session of ice climbing down amongst the seracs in the Tasman icefall.
