A short course tailored those wanting to know the basics of understanding weather, snowpack assessment, terrain analysis, avalanche equipment and rescue techniques. An absolute must before starting your Back Country Adventures. Duration – 1 evening / 1 Day Cost $170 / Pers (1:6) $255 / Pers (1:4) Course Resources $23 / Pers An additional day can be added for an Intro Backcountry Ski Touring day. This is aimed at further education around identifying and moving through avalanche terrain, understanding weather and applying avalanche forecast bulletins to your trip planning. Avalanche beacon / Shovel / Probe
Pack sufficient to carry all equipment

Ski field Passes (purchased on day)
Note books (small) pen / pencil
Equipment and clothing for alpine environment – including snow googles and sunglasses.

You will gain valuable terrain analysis and movement skills over 4 days of education in the uncontrolled avalanche terrain. We take you out into the backcountry every day during this MSC accredited Backcountry Avalanche Course, so you can learn from a professional guide how to make good decisions when you are out touring in the mountains.
