PROGRAM OUTLINE
Ski Mountaineering in New Zealand
Meeting Location : Wanaka or Unwin Hut, Mt Cook Village
Meeting time : Either the evening before or 8 am the morning to carry out gear check and discuss locations and weather.
Day 1
Drive: Mt Cook or Fox Glacier
Fly : Load the heli and fly in to our high alopine huts on the West Coast Glacierr Mt Cook National Park or the Cass Valley
Day 2 – 4 (or 6)
Ski Touring / Mountaineering : daily ski tours or short alopine ascent to access epic ski lines
Day 5 (or 7)
Early morning Tour : either a short jaunt from the hut or travel down the glacier to a lower hut for heli extraction
Fly Out / Drive Home : Drive back to Wanaka or say goodbye in Mt Cook depending on what your travel plans are after the trip

You will need a full alpine set of equipment
Ski touring equipment + ski crampons
Crampons to fit your boots
Harness + helmet
Mountaineering pack
Ice axe

Head Torch, sleeping bag etc
