NZ Guiding

Team

Mal Haskins
Mal is based in wanaka and attempts to make a living out of climbing guiding and generally sifting.  He’s been visiting the Himalaya’s since 2005 and in 2008 made an ascent of Lhotse.  Mal started climbing to avoid going to university and to escape the ‘real’ world.  It’s been 22 years of running from it and it (the real world) still doesn’t look like catching up.
Mal works in New Zealand in both summer and winter as a mountain guide.

Matthew Quirke

Matt escaped from a small rock in the Irish sea, which matt assures has a mountain – although it is only 650m high, but it does have a Cafe on the summit ….
Despite these impediments he’s become and accomplished climber, it all started on a cycling tour when he ralized that he had more climbing gear with him than cycling equipment.  For the last few years Matt has been based in Wanaka, New Zealand but now resides in Geneva.

Winter Ramos
Winter owes his climbing success to his sunglasses, which he says, gives hima  rosy outlook on life ….?
He’s originally from, in his words, Western North America and sometimes Southern South America – but his base roots are from Idaho – although he tries to hide it.  Winter has spent most of his climbing career in the Rocky Mountains
